Cedar patio furniture maker duplicates its designs in teak. Dual cedar and teak offering has many benefits.
For Brookbend Outdoor Furniture’s first five years its patio furniture designed by a former Ethan Allen executive was made solely with cedar. As teak has the longest longevity of all outdoor wood, the recent addition of a teak furniture option allows customers the highest luxury standard in wood patio furnishings.
The double wood offering has virtues beyond a choice in quality. It helps people who need to match furniture they already have. A backyard collection of teak likely will not blend well with cedar, and vise versa. Another benefit is in gift-giving. Many people will not spend on others while indulging in the more expensive teak for themselves. The teak line retails at about twice the price of cedar.
When arriving on Brookbend’s website viewers can click for the cedar line or teak line. The two lines are joined on a common entry web page but are separated out on different websites for ease of navigation and clarity, Marcus says.
Owner Paul Marcus says he has not seen this two-choice wood offering in other fine furniture lines. Noting most patio furniture is sold by dealers who re-sell other company’s products, dealers have no say in what materials their supplier’s lines come in. But designing and marketing our own brand solves that problem, Marcus says.
