Modern wooden bar stools by Norman Cherner: Slim elegance for your bar

Wood is a popular material in furniture design. In addition to having a warm, cozy aura, the surface design sometimes hardly needs any embellishment at all because the grain of the wood itself is decoration enough. It’s no wonder then that this natural beauty is the material of choice for certain designers like Norman Cherner.

Modern bistro chairs made of wood can be found in the collections of the Cherner Chair Company. Cherner’s molded plywood seating line for Plycraft in the late 1950s was one of his most famous works, and his tradition of excellence continues today through the products manufactured by the company his sons founded to continue producing his designs.

Three of the bar stools offered by Cherner are the Konwiser stool, the No. 2 stool, and one simply called the Norman Cherner bar stool. As you can see in the pictures, all are beautifully crafted from wood. The elegant curves and contours would make these chairs fitting for most any bar, whether it’s in a luxury hotel or in a more casual part of town.

The stools’ base is constructed from solid steel and not tubular steel. Their backs and seats are made of the highest quality European beech or walnut wood. The beech chairs come in several different shades while the walnut version comes in natural only. For greater comfort (and maybe to protect the stools’ seats and backs) you can choose to have them upholstered in any fabric that you want.

The Cherner Chair Company is no stranger to creating contract bar chairs for hotels and restaurants. Their seating can be found in places like the Soho Grand Hotel in New York City and the Roots Restaurant in Seattle. So if you think you’d like some top-quality wooden bar stools to adorn your bar or café then going with specialists like Cherner would be a good choice to consider.
